Is this bull a shooter? What's his score?

So we’re trying to find a decent bull for my buddies boy. He drew a Oregon Premium tag in an OTC archery unit, they only give out one tag per unit and it is any weapon hunt Aug 1st - Nov 30th.

I have a bull on cam I now call “GotDraw”(If you look at the first pic at the trough you can see how small his male parts are, hence the name) I’ve watched him for several years and he’s getting pretty big. Anyone have an opinion on what he would score. The first bull is for reference on the same cam in 2018, that year he was 304” with a 38” spread credit, I found his 2020 sheds and he went just over 330”.

I assume the GotDraw put on several inches also. Anyway here are some photos, let me know what you think.

I think you knew the answer before you posted...
I have my opinion, he's a weird framed bull with strange layout which makes it hard to judge. He stopped and stared at me for a couple minutes the other day when heading in to check cams, I got a pretty good look at him from about 60 yards with the binos and he is defiantly a good bull. Heavy and long fronts.

Don't try and pick the fly shit out of the pepper. The bull is a stud, go kill him!

No sure how it wouldn't be a shooter? The only thing that is tricky to score are the beams due to the curve. Other wise tine length is tine length and mass is mass. plus he has another month to grow. If he is borderline now he isn't getting smaller by the time season comes around.

The shape of the rack throws me off. I feel like the "previously known as football, but from hence forth shall be known as Didn'tdrawnotagsandI'msour" in '19 is in the 290's. His 3's and 4's are hard to judge because the main beam pushes them higher than they are. It's deceiving to judge an animal from another. You really need to start breaking down dimensions. I'm feeling like he is going to average 12-13" for his guards, 3's at 12" 4's at 14-15", 5's @ 5&7". Then beam of 40 possibly, but again, that shape is hard on me. So add that up, then an average of the mass you see in your area, or what you think would be appropriate maybe 42-44" per side. Then spread credit.

I mean I usually don't do that in the field. I just shoot them, figure it out later.

Agreed. I judge my elk by opporunity and how I think they might taste😂
I have a hard time not pulling the trigger or not letting the arrow fly. It's real hard for me to turn down an opportunity, especially in Oregon. I just hope I have the patience and self control to not shoot a dink lol. They just taste so darn good!

They don't know the glory of shooting a spike or raghorn until they've chewed on a 8 year old herd bull.

Man those are some nice water holes you have there.
This time of year they are good and in Nov. during the rut the bulls are all gone chasing cows and I rarely get pics, come about Nov. 10th I start seeing them show back up until snow flys. Being able to hunt august and late November is a huge advantage for sure!!

It all depends on what your buddy's boy is looking for. Has he killed a bull over 300"? How much time is he going to have to hunt? Have you seen bigger bulls in the unit? I'm from NE Oregon and have hunted the OTC archery tags there most my life, and if I had the premium tag in one of those units, that bull would not be on the hit list but thats my personal opinion. I'm thinking he'll finish out 290-305, but hard to tell from pictures and he's still going to grow a little bit. It's all in the eye of the tag holder though, if it makes him happy then I'm happy for him, all that counts.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like to talk at all, if the tag is in one of the units that I know I'd be willing to help out.
