Nothing wrong with pictures or even discussing them.

But when someone excels at being an arrogant ass...gloves come off...

Desiring a logical, critical, honest conversation is being an arrogant ass? Can you quote or show where I am being an arrogant ass?

Remember when you told us your wood Rokstock was going kill more animals in the fall of '24 than most people would in a lifetime?

What's the body count on that thing?

11 or 12. And I also clarified to you exactly what I meant by that. So what is your point? What does that have to do with “nutswinging”?

You have had a tremendous positive influence on this site, I have benefitted from your contributions personally.

However there's a significant portion of the membership here that doesn't accept anything as fact, reality or relevant unless you say it is. Those members are nutswingers.

Here’s my question: When, or is there ever, a time when a magnum caliber cartridge is advantageous for hunting?
I think that's the wrong question. When is a magnum a disadvantage is the better question?

Answer, 1. when you can't shoot it well. 2. if the bullet/load isn't a good one for the expected range. You can make a magnum perform worse than a very light cartridge.

So what was the point of your last comment then? That seems silly.

Please give examples- who are those people? Where are people saying “I don’t believe it unless form says it”?

I’d like to start by saying I’m by no means an expert in swinging nuts. Not something I spend a lot of time thinking about, I’ve done no reading of peer reviewed journals on the subject, and as far as personal experience I’d say average at best. But if I found myself taking a multiple choice test and encountered a question about nutswinging, and that was one of the answers, I’d probably go with it.

I don't have the ambition to sort through years of posts from various members shifting their preconceived beliefs to what they believe today.

If one looks from the sidelines it's plain as day that some people take whatever you say as gospel and reject anything that may be contrary, they've even tried to mimick your unique vernacular which is very telling of of the sheep. If anyone can't see it happening then they're fully invested and I can't explain it through typed words.

So years of arguments (classical), discussions, explanations, massive amounts if of evidence both written and photographic, and corroborated by lots others- has caused people to adjust or change their preconceived beliefs? “Beliefs” not facts.

Isn’t that the point of learning?

Who takes it as gospel? You stated “tremendous portion of the membership”. If what you say is real, that is- a tremendous portion of the membership just take my word without factual backing; then it should be evident to everyone, and easily shown- you don’t have to sort through years of posts.

But, I don’t think you can show one person that is the case with. Anyone you you would show, I can all but guarantee you I can quote post after post of them arguing with me on some other topic.

If I say that my experience shows a pair of boots leak- I have to make a 3 page white paper with video post and explain how Gortex is laminated, just to get the constant “it isn’t real” comments to mostly stop from people that have never even seen the boots being discussed.

Doing what you are doing here, and that the people I constantly have argumentative discourse with do- claiming that people are appealing to authority and “that people take whatever I say as gospel” does not help anyone. All it is an excuse for people to not engage in factual conversations.

You are 100% correct IMO, and blatantly obvious to any reasonably objective person around here. It's laughable actually.

If, and I repeat IF, that is happening, that is a them issue and not a Form issue. And before I get roasted for being a "Formie", I only own 1 Tikka and its topped with a Leupold and shoots Accubond bullets...I own exactly ZERO 223s, Rokstoks, Mavens, SWFAs, ZERO Eldms are in my possession and all of my scopes are in MOA and my current elk rifle is a 300 Ultra.

You can call it what you want, stop playing the victim.

Many of your posts in reply are arguementative, hardly the behavior for the role of a moderator.

Communicating with tact gives credibility and that goes a long way...

Give folks enough rope, they will hang themselves despite best efforts. I want to keep an even keel and an open mind and be respectful. Hypocrisy is identifiable and those that call it out regularly should be able to recognize it whether it's about ballistics, wonton meat destruction that can be avoided for the sake of an argument or intent.

What's wrong with magnum calibers? I like my 300 WM for large/tough game. It's the only magnum caliber I own. Are you scared of the recoil?
