I thought the VX series scopes either came with a zero stop on an MOA turret or they dont. In either case, ordering a CDS dial wouldn't add a zero stop if it didn't already exist. I think this is how my first gen VX6 worked but i cant recall if I had to order a MOA turret as my CDS election or if it just came that way.
I don't know why you think you'd need to sight in your rifle after dialing. Dial it back to zero and go forth. Sure, it's easier to lose which rev you're on without a zero stop but I find i'm seldom/never that close to a full rev for hunting shots anyway.
Have used scopes like the SWFA 3-9 SS without a zero stop for a long time and have had very little issue losing which rev i'm on in hunting distance shots or use cases.
