Interesting place to find an antelope skull

Was up deep in the Black Hills on the Wyoming side this past week, and ran across an antelope skull deep in the forest. It was down by a creek in some really thick cover. I'd say I was a minimum of 10-15 miles from the nearest spot I've ever seen an antelope, and probably 30 miles or more from what I would casually consider "antelope country". Just thought it was an interesting place to find an antelope.
What's the strangest place you guys have ever seen an antelope, dead or alive? I'm guessing maybe he wondered into the forest due to harsh winter conditions?

About 8400ft of elevation in a wilderness area. River break country but definitely the mountains. Summer time of course

I've seen antelope several times higher than elk on the mountain in summer and early fall.

I saw a herd in a timber clearcut, around 8700-9000' a few years ago. They weren't very far from typical terrain, but it was an odd sight.

Look up Hardtner,Ks. I was building a pond 4 miles of there in 2020 and a HUGE buck was following a doe across the road. I got within probably 50yds in the pickup

Up in the mountains about 6000’ in elevation along the middle fork of the Boise river. He was in a pretty dense stand of timber

I've found them in the forest in fairly thick cover multiple times over the years. Both NM and AZ. The ones I've seen have all been bucks. I've glassed them up looking into timber for elk as well.

Any other bones around? A coyote could easily carry a head miles.

Once upon a time in N AZ, I found a herd of antelope in an open bowl on top of a timbered cinder cone I was crossing over to get ahead of a herd of elk. My sense is guys don't think antelope live in timber because they don't (or can't) glass for them there. Like most critters, they are where you find them.

I scared off a small herd in a wooded part of MT a few years ago at about 6500 feet where I didn't know they existed. I wish I had an antelope tag, one nice buck in there.

A friend sees them all the time in an area that he hunts elk during 1st/2nd rifle in Colorado. This place is higher up in altitude and would never be considered antelope country.

I've seen them above treeline (11,500') in the summer, and regularly watch them migrate at 9500'+ through the aspens and pines.

Once saw a small group of them at 9,800 ft in Colorado. It was mid summer and they were in a meadow at the edge of a huge aspen stand.

Years ago while winter fly fishing around 8,000' we came around a bend and bumped a group of mule deer. Right in the middle of the group of deer was one single pronghorn doe. This was fairly open country but not antelope country by any means. We watched this group of deer for quite awhile and that pronghorn doe was just part of the herd acting like a deer. Next time we fished that area we ran into a biologist doing winter counts. He mentioned that they had seen that pronghorn doe for 3 years hanging out with the deer. Figured she must have gotten separated from mom at an early age and got adopted by the deer.

Had a place at 10,000’ elevation around Leadville, CO. Had antelope on it in the summers 15 plus years ago.

This group was above 9,000 ft in Colorado in November.

These two were about 8,500' this weekend.

I don't have pictures, but I've seen speedgoats feeding out into a burn area.
