Sorry if this is already discussed somewhere else.

Been building my later season hunting layer system for awhile now, got the top half figured out but I struggle to keep my legs warm without sweating on the way in. I’ve been looking at the Kuiu Kenai pants to put on in the tree. As I already have their zip off merino long Johns and it works well just need some wind blockage power for when it gets colder here.

Is this the right idea? Or are there better options?

I mostly tree saddle hunt for whitetail in WI.

I would probably buy them for exactly the same use if they would make them in camo. I like my Kenai jacket for exactly those reasons although without a shell over it the outer fabric won't last long in the brush. Something less expensive would do me fine also as long as it is warm and quiet.

Bibs with zippers to the hip. Some sort of wind barrier and light insulation. Carry them in. Vent as needed. Most every camo clothing manufacturer has a version or versions.

I’ve thought about this a lot, only reason I lean to the Kenai pants is that I can put them on in the tree easier. Where the bibs would go on at the base of the tree
