I’m a flat lander who is venturing more and more into lace ups with midwestern hunting (and one day the real west). I have various hikers and hunting boots and wanted to know what are some good insole options to try and improve the personalized fitment of my boots.

Thank you

Superfeet have lots of choices depending on what you need. I personally use superfeet green insole and have been very happy with them

I've used several different types of the Superfeet over the years and they have worked out fine. Lathrop sent me a pair of their Synergy this year and I have to say, they are the nicest feeling insoles I've used so far. I only have about 18 miles on them with my 40 pound training pack, but they feel pretty amazing so far. They feel almost like a soft gel that hugs and cushions the feet. I'm guessing when the load gets heavy, they'll really shine.

A lot depends upon your particular feet. I work everyday here in Colo in the field in the same type of country I elk and deer hunt. My feet need padding. I tried just about every Superfeet available and none of them had enough padding. I found that Spencos had a lot more padding and plenty of support. I replace my Spencos about twice a year. They are around $30 at Sportsman's.

Just remember that new replacements of original insoles usually take up more volume in your boot. I often buy boots around 1 size larger to compensate for this. I often added thin padded socks for when it's warmed out and thicker socks and let out the laces when super cold. Buying one size larger allows you more room for insoles plus padded socks. There are several brands of socks that dry quickly and come in different thickness.
