My buddy was looking at getting one of these. Has anyone had any experience with the service in the mountains in the lower 48 and Alaska?

I have an Iridium and have liked it.

I'll get this back to the top as I'm curious as well. Inmarsat is a considerably cheaper option to Iridium if it has decent coverage.

I've owned one for a year and used it in Wyoming with no issues. I will be taking it to Alaska this fall and we'll see how it does up there. So far I'm quite happy with it. It's lightweight and the batteries seem to last quite a while. I'd recommend it over the iridium.
