Inexpensive used truck upgrade

Was driving my 10 year old F150 work truck last week & felt a spring clip break in the seat. The seat cushion was already worn out so I ordered a new cushion off Amazon. Took out the seat, fixed the spring with some HVAC zip ties & now the thing feels like I'm driving a new one. Only cost me $60 & about an hour of aggravation. Small victories are nice

Bought a beater truck last year. They used bark to shim up the springs in the seat. Is it a bad idea if it works?

Theres no rust on this bitch. Though I have no doubt that bark is off of poached firewood

Course if you go buy the cheapest white f250 in the county, burried in snow, in the middle of a snow storm. You're goona have a few surprises like that! White out conditions hide a lot of stuff
