Your comparing two separate things. Draw units limit the total amount of hunters in that unit making it easier to find solitude. Add to the fact it's a unit that is less desirable the reason you can draw it with zero points. OTC has no limits on hunter numbers and people tend to flock to the best areas which can cause crowding issues and be frustrating. Sure hunting the less desirable parts of a unit may help but then your hunting where the deer don't want to be either.Which is easily done with 0 points

I find this astounding (and funny), considering how many threads you have started asking for info on specific units.Shocker, you're from back east. News flash: point creep is going crazy in the West, OTC seasons are cram packed between residents and the growing number of non-resident hunters. Posting states to apply to and units on these forums is not helpful to anyone's cause. No offense taken, just wanted to clarify the reasoning why so many guys prefer PMs to discuss this information.

I recently moved to Kentucky from PA. First year applying for me, but 90% go to residents, so I should have a little better than a snowball's chance.
