Alright guys the two things that are really lacking in my kit is a sleeping bag and pad, money is not a huge deal but I would like to keep it reasonable. Really cold weather is not a huge concern, coldest it gets where I hunt is around 10-20 degrees, but it can get into the 60-70's so I wold like a versatile piece. Packability and weight are always a concern but am willing to pack a bit extra for gains in comfort.
Now the issue, I'm 6'2" with a 50 inch chest and it's tuff for me to find bags that are comfy around my shoulders. Thanks in advance guys for your advice.

Big Agnes has the Park series, its a mummy/rectangle hybrid made for bigger guys. They are a little heavy. I have a 52" chest and I can toss and turn all night no problems.

cant go wrong with thermarest neo air for a pad, xtherm, or a all season version pending on your budget. i have used the all season for two years with great results, temps 10-80. either would suit your needs. the all season is a mear 4 oz more heavy than the xtherm with a fuzz lower r rating so for me i just went for the shape of the all season but others here prefer the x therm. either is 2.5 inches when inflated and packs to the size of a nalgene bottle.

If you haven't done so I would take a look at the Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed. Its supposed to be available this month and you can go to their web site for info. Its wide in the shoulders and the way its designed should work well in the temps. you described. It has an integrated pad sleeve to keep a pad centered.

Have you looked into the quilt scene? That is the direction I went and I am not disappointed in the slightest!
As for pads, you have to find your own middle ground as far as weight/comfort goes. I selected a BA Qcore SL. Not the lightest, but keeps me comfortable as a side sleeper and has a great R value.

The Thermarest Xtherm is the lightest and warmest pad on the market.

Couple that with the quilt of your choice and you'll be set.

Littlebuf is also a big guy and he loves this system. (He uses the Xlite pad)

I have not looked at the quilt but jut set he'd through and saw littlebufs write up. And that actually looks really really good. May have to check it out. I'm so behind the times with my sleep system it's sad. I'm still using an old rectangle bag..
