Please let me know what brand/models ya'll have had good luck with. I'd prefer dishwasher safe, but not a hard requirement.
I have a cool old bone handled sharpfinger my late father won in a set during a Whitetails Unlimited banquet. Very cool knives that make short work of deer. For steak knives in my house? I use Old Timer Sharpfinger(s)!
When I shattered my wrist, it was the only knife I could work pretty well one-handed with my wrist being jacked-up and I couldn't put much down-pressing force on the fork-holding hand. I've used them ever since.
Ya, that's a little ridiculous. We originally paid about half that for TWO sets of four knives.Wusthoff are made in Germany, but 4 steak knives for $290 is out of my price range.
Unfortunately this 6 piece set is made in China. Good reviews though.Vicky makes them in round tip and pointed tip. Not had a reason to look any further.
Cutco is a good company and they make quality cutlery with a bullet proof guarantee. However, they do make you pay for it. $320 for a set of 4 steak knives. I was gifted a Cutco clip point hunter with double-d serrated edge and it is wicked sharp. Cuts through sternum and pelvis like a saw.Cutco or Shun
