Import waypoints into GoHunt, get $100 gear credit

I did it, but only with some pins from an unsuccessful low odds hunt 😂 I haven’t gotten any notification of any credit, time will tell.

I've never seen any evidence that any one of these vendors has "sold" private waypoint data. With the user bases they have, you're talking about hundreds of thousands (or maybe even millions) of data points. At some point it's no longer even "secret spots" - it's just a polka-dot grid. That being said, there is absolutely nothing that stops internal staff from taking a peek and you never know who has a "buddy who knows a guy who works there" or an employee willing to share some things on the sly for a few hundred bucks. IMO it's almost as bad not knowing they don't as being sure that they do.

Let's put it this way. With absolutely zero evidence to back up this concern, as a software engineer myself I absolutely do not put anything sensitive into OnX, GoHunt, or any of these other tools. I'm just too familiar with what could go wrong, whether it has/does or not.

As a fellow software engineer I share the same concerns and take similar precautions.

I was able to grab the entire chain of reels and no mention of for new users only. I imported some yesterday and my account isn' showing the $100 yet. Time will tell...

According what’s been meantioned on the podcast go hunt has it in there terms of service they will not sell/share way points or your data,

Unlike there competitors who at least have the wording in there terms that they own the waypoints and can sell/share if they way.

I imported a pin last night and didn't see any points on my account. I just called them and asked how long it would take to see the points. The guy said he wasn't sure how they have it setup but he went ahead and added them to my account while I was on the phone. I just had to give him my email that is associated with GoHunt

Must be struggling pretty hard with people adopting the mapping service....
GoHunt has been running some pretty lucrative promotions recently. Makes one wonder if they are struggling to get members. I am not a CPA but when I see things like this, I wonder if there is some tax advantage they are taking advantage of. Who knows.

Its alway money back to the Gear Shop which makes me wonder if its two different entities. Gain money on member platform side, lose money on the gear side.

You are spot on. Ebitda based on recurring revenue will bring a higher multiplier for an exit strategy. Inventory losses are write downs. If I had to guess they’re prepping for an exit. ARR is king for SaaS companies. Next year will tell🫣
