If you could pick anyone to hunt with, how would it be?

My old hunting buddy Ray Alt who was quite a sheep hunter. Ray took about 10 rams self guided, and ultimately got a grand slam by winning a Stone hunt at the Grand Slam convention with Stone Mountain Safaris in BC. He also won a Pope and Young Ishi award for the Bighorn ram he arrowed in MT way back in about 1968 that stood as the World Record for a few years. I think three of Ray's ram's would qualify for B&C, a huge Missouri Breaks ram from 2010, an archery Bighorn from CO in 1988 and a NV Desert ram from 1990. Ray passed away in MT last June and I miss him.

I'd opt for the 2 guys who recently killed the brown bear that attacked their friend on Afognak Island in Alaska. I'm sure I could learn a lot about preparation and resolve by picking their brains and sharing a camp with them.

there aint a tv person that would excite me, and I have been trying to think of one. shockey comes close but close don't cut it. would just as soon be with Robbie or Moffat or Snyd. the trouble is I cant keep up any more so I would be a dish washer. cant say as I would contribute but I would like to listen to the best times they had.

I shoot bench rest with a fellow from Pa. that went sheep hunting this year and we sat for hours and just talked every time we crossed paths.

and them 2 dudes with the big uns that just saved their bud would do too!!!

Teddy Roosevelt or Fred Bear. Both epic outdoorsmen/hunters, oh the stories they could tell...

all you guys saying Daniel Boone or Davey Crockett..no thanks. we only know what we heard in folklore stories.

hate to get to camp and they start in..

"there is gonna be a party"
"yay".
"there is gonna be some drinking going on"
"okay, i like to drink"
"might be some fighting"
"err..okay, i can fight some"
"there is gonna be some sex"
"alright! how many people at this party?"
"oh, just us three"

Simon Kenton
Lewis Wetzel

both legends from where I grew up.

so the story goes a bet was made during an army campaign after Indians that Wetzel could out shoot any soldier and out run any soldier.
he had to out shoot the first and out run the second and load on the run and out shoot the second again. twas said a lot of money changed hands when he did it.

I'd love to go hunting with Barbara Streisand. We could talk about the outdoors, politics, and having different views. It would be a hoot. Or Cher, she'd be my second choice.

A high fenced whitetail hunt in Texas, over a feeding station, with Ted Nugent. Oh yeah, that would be the ultimate!
