I'd go with some mountain man like Jim Bridger, Hugh Glass, or Kit Carson.

The stories those guys could tell would be worth the trip.

Hugh Glass??!! I'd be afraid to walk down the street with that dude! He was a walking disaster magnet! Tough as nails and the stories would be awesome, but he found trouble everywhere he went! LOL
I'd pick Chuck Adams, Davy Crockett, and Rinella (I love to eat good food).

Not trying to brown nose here but Robby Denning would my choice. I know i would learn more on a trip with him than properly the rest of my life hunting mule deer. His approach to big mule deer is not that much different for big whitetails where I live, except for the country of course. I know i would have the time of my life.

Boggles my mind how many guys/gals would want to hunt with these TV personalities more than anyone else. To me - family that have passed, people in history (old mountain men, native americans, etc) would be way more memorable than Rinella or Newberg. Just cracks me up

The intent of the original post was to hunt with people that are living. It was too late at that point so, yeah, if we are including anyone in history, then I probably wouldn’t choose Rinella. Besides, be careful what you wish for... I think hunting with TR might be cool, but if you read his biographies, he might disappoint you in the lens of a modern hunter. Not knocking him... just trying to make the point that if you wanted to hunt with a frontiersman or Native American tribe, don’t be surprised if you wake up in the morning to find your horse, boots, and rifle missing! The intent of the post was just some good natured discussion not to be taken too seriously.
