If you could only have one pack

I really like my Kifaru 22" frame with a 22mag, but the size would limit me on extended trips...if I could only have one bag it'd be a 24" frame with a 44mag.

The Kifaru Hoodlum with a guide lid, Sherman, and a couple of belt pouches does everything I need it to. From day trips, packing salt, and extended backpacking trips. It’s hard to beat IMO

@EastHumboldt I agree. I love the metcalf. Have you ever used MR's rifle sling? Looks to have mediocre reviews but would love a quick release option when I am doing longer hikes.

No, I use a Talarik sling hook. It’s a very simple device that hooks on with Velcro and I’ve found it works pretty well. Like all sling devices it has its drawbacks.

I have a MR TerraFrame 65 on a GuideLight MT frame. I also have a Pintler bag only that goes on it for day hunting.

Those two cover everything I need. Great load haulers, too.
