I am looking into an elk hunt either this year or next year. First zone I looked was the pioneer zone. When looking at the area with google earth, I seen quite a few camps set up in the one river valley. The time stamp on google earth said July. I figured the majority of the camps were 4 wheeler type camps.

I was wondering if theses camps continue through hunting season? When I change the date on google earth to mid September I see camps but no idea if they are more elk hunter camps or a mix of both. Just looking for any info. I am just starting my research on zones and different units. I know most areas allow 4 wheelers where vehicles can travel.

I've hunted that unit several times in the past. The answer is yes that traffic continues throughout the elk season and there is a good amount of both hunting parties and just large families out 4-wheeling. That area gets hunted very hard IMO.
