Idaho Moose 2026

Curious how many people buy in for Idaho moose this year? It’s going to be interesting to look at draw odds with the new changes in the non-resident draw and if all the hunters with licenses who previously would not have had them to see if they put in for a moose/goat tag. For my sake I hope they decide to put on for controlled elk/deer hunts instead. Fingers crossed. All controlled hunt draw odds will be out the window in Idaho this year I think.

I was tempted but that $2600 up front tag fee is pretty high. So I will stick with Elk, Deer, Speedgoat.

It would be nice if they made nonres deer/elk/antelope pay-up-front, and this includes the mailed check reimbursement system.

I think the pay up front does limit a lot of people and keep numbers down. That and not allowing you to also put in for controlled deer and elk.

Yes, a big problem with Oregon's system is that they allow everyone and their mother apply for OIL with absolutely no opportunity cost.
