You think you can carry camp on your backs for 10 days? 15?

Its not like we are carrying wall tents and stoves. So yeah i think can. Pack with everything is ~52 lbs. Leaving tents, bags, and food at camp would only eliminate ~10 lbs.

I’m heading this year out to the Frank with Wilderness Mule Outfitters. Seems like a tougher hunt, but didn’t want to burn the points I had and hated the idea of a lodge hunt in NM.

Simply guys with a lot of experience. Elk hunting with camp on your back in rugged country is Typically not a successful strategy. More power to you

OP, no offense but you need to be more realistic. The amount of calories needed to hunt for 10 days in that country alone would weigh half or more of your pack weight. And what you going to do if you actually kill something the size and weight of an elk?

If you guys are packing in 25lbs of food that might be the problem.
