Not sure if this is the proper place for this thread, but... Im looking for any recommendations or warnings from anyone who has experience hunting Ibex in Spain. I have extensive mountain hunting experience (mostly dall sheep and goats in Alaska), but i have never done an international hunt before, nor hire a guide.
I have wanted to hunt Ibex in Spain or Turkey for a very long time. At this phase of my life I think Spain would be more realistic. I have a few years to prepare for it, but I would like to do this with my son for a graduation present. Gredos or Beceite Ibex would be our focus.
I could (and have) done lots of research, but I value the input from those who have been there done that more that who has the best website. Any advice would be welcomed! Thank you in advance.

Are you looking for a partner ? I'm 60, and won't be able to do this shiit much longer. I'd have to hire a packer just to carry my backpack.

Hunted Ibex in Spain last Oct. Took a Beceite, Gredoes, Mouflon sheep and a Red Deer. We, my wife and myself, hunted with Daniel Marti Higuera down near Solobre and up near Alcorica. Good hunt, very good accommodations and food. If you need to talk you can PM me to discuss Spain. We truly enjoyed our hunt. MTG

Sounds like you are preparing for quite an adventure. I've spent time in Spain (but never hunted there) and you'll really enjoy the people and the culture. Good luck with your search - I'll be quietly (and jealously) watching the responses because this sounds like a great outing.

Spain, the old country. History, culture, food and the scenery is wonderful. For those who dream of hunting Spain I recommend research, planning and looking forward to a true adventure. MTG

My wife and I both Hunted Beceite Ibex with Alvaro Villegas/EuroHunts in December 2022. We were introduced to Alvaro by Craig Bodington. The Hunts were successful, and the Hunting was fun. Everything was WELL organized, clean and safe. We did bring our own rifles. At SCI in Nashville, we rebooked for Gredos Ibex with
Alvaro for December 2024. Spanish Ibex Rut in November-December, I was told they are more visible in the rut.

Spain is a wonderful country and lots of great outfitters. I've hunted south eastern & gredos ibex on my first trip & Beceite & Mallorcan wild goat this last trip. Both trips were amazing with great people, food, accomodations & plenty of game. I was with a friend that has hunted everything else in Spain & will be going back to hunt the chamois soon.
The bezoar ibex of Turkey is definitely a different more difficult hunt (IMO) but not terrible.
Turkey has been cutting tags in several areas & my suggestion would be to hunt bezoar sooner than later.
