Have you looked at the Meindl boots from Meindl USA? The comfort fit are said to have decent toe room. See if they look different than your Cabela's versions..

I have not, I havent been able to track down a Meindl boot before, the only ones I have found locally are the Cabelas branded ones.

I may just need to bite the bullet and order a pair online I just hate dealing with online returns.

I’ve had my Cabela’s Meindl perfect hikers for about 16 years now. I cleaned them and oiled them on a regular basis. Goretex wore out a long long time ago but they were still a great boot. I think my feet have gotten wider with age and unfortunately, the ole rubbing on the third toe has become unbearable. My Keen work boots I think are ruined now. They have fit great but for some reason it feels like a tack or nail is sticking up through the insole and stabbing my foot with every step. Could hardly walk last night! I’m going to order some Meindl’s soon for hunting this year.

My wife laughs at my feet every time she sees them. At least I now know that I’m not the only one out there with freakishly long 2nd and 3rd toes!

Cabela's stopped carrying them since the Bass Pro takeover, so unfortunately online may be the only place. Fyi Meindl has some weird sizing, they describe it on their page of each boot, and it can vary by each model.

I thought their sizing was a little strange as well. They recommend to order 1/2 size smaller than your normal size. I have a feeling though that my normal size would be good because it almost seems like they run a little bit bigger than most boots?

I have the similar Vivo Tracker ESC. I really like them, I just had to skip the lacing spot that is directly over my ankle bone to minimize pressure there. Once I did that they have become my favorite boots. I mostly wear LEMS and Altra shoes, so my feet are used to wide toe boxes and these ESCs are designed similarly.

Probably the Comfort Fit Hunter. They have two sizes or lasts for their boots. Comfort fit has a wider toe box while the standard has a more athletic fit as they call it.

Thanks yeah I wish I would have bought 1 more pair of these boots. I had 2 or 3 pair and slowly I have worn them out so I am down to my last. The leather is just so thin it wears out rapidly. Maybe Ill try and safety cap the toes now before they go, see if I can get some more life out of them.

Now that BPS is in command my local Cabelas selection is horrible. Barely even stock a name brand boot or shoe. ITs mostly Boat shoes and off brand shit.

Yeah, they are online order only or you can call and talk to them personally. I’ve heard that they have good customer service and will gladly guide you in the right direction. It’s pretty neat to see that their history of boot making goes back a few hundred years.

Although I don’t have the long toe issue, I do have a need for a wider toe box. I’ve had really good luck with Schenee boots out of Montana. There customer service is top notch along with their return policy. I’ve had my beartooth boots for 5 years and they’re still going strong. I would give them a call and talk to one of their specialists. They will find you the right boot or something will continue sending them until your happy. It took me three boots until I landed on the beartooths but I won’t buy anything else now.

also take a YouTube tutorial on how to lace and tie boots to accommodate wide toes or narrow ankles

Next time I make the trip to MT to visit my parents I will be stopping in Bozeman to talk with Schnees. I'm only a few hours from Bozeman so we may make a quick trip up to fish once the rivers drop.

Might try a pair of salewas also. I like a tommier toe box but more fitted through the forefoot and heel. Salewa definitely delivers in that department. I have Crispi’s Thor 2 also. Very similar fit.

You won’t find anything wider in the forefoot. But if you’re rocking caveman feet and cankles like me, you don’t need a ton of support.

I’m wearing a pair of the unlined Topo’s. They are really comfortable. I had to add an insole with more support but I have to do that to all boots.

My Meindl comfort hunters just arrived yesterday. I’ve only worn them inside the house but holy smokes they are comfortable! I ordered my size instead of sizing down a half size like they suggest and they are a bit big but that’s fine because I wear a thicker sock when hunting. Now I need to get them outside and break them in. Oh, the toe box is plenty wide for my freaky long 3rd toe! just make sure and order the comfort series as they use a wider last for it.

I like a wider toe box and the Lowa Camino fits me very well, but it's a mid ankle hiker. I tried the Lowa Tibet Hi as a hunting boot based on that, but it unfortunately feels a bit narrower in the toe so I'm going to try it a half size up.

The Camino comes in a wide as does the standard Tibet, but unfortunately the Tibet Hi does not.

I find the toe box in the Camino to be noticeably more narrow than some of their other boots. I have the Camino, Ranger, Baffin, and insulated Tibet. The Camino seems to be the most narrow while the Baffin is the widest.

The Camino lacing system reminds me of a rock climbing shoe.

Might be worth trying lowa tibets or even ticam IIs (on sale pretty cheap some places). Both come in wide. The Ticams are pretty long and still decently wide.
