So pumped for this hunt! Drew the October archery tag!
I always told myself if I drew this tag, I would put my pride aside and hire an outfitter. Something about rappelling cliffs for retrieval and rattlesnakes under every rock that don't scream safe to be solo.
So pumped!

I originally wanted to poke fun about hunting a non-native but then realized I hunt deer and goats on Kodiak and put in for a dang tag to hunt plains bison in interior AK every year. Nice reality check. Hunting is hunting!

Congratulations on that tag. Here's some cliffs not terribly far from Ibex country. That's a Barbary sheep on the face in the second pic. I'm pretty sure she's safe there. Gnarly country in NM.

Not being a dick....as I have hunted both in those same spots. The Barbary country sucks, but the Floridas are a different suck. Lived in Deming for 8+ years. Looked at those mountain EVERY day. You're gonna have FUN! I'd suggest NOT taking advice from anyone who personally hasn't set foot there. Take your Windstopper +P+...giggle
