i visited a range that had a nice safe 100 yard target. there was a massive hillside as a backdrop with low grass, so i figured finding my arrows wouldnt/shouldnt be that difficult.

talk about exciting and fun!! i'd never shoot at a live animal at this distance..but a target was a fun experience. i really had to focus on my good grip form, and more importantly, my trigger. stiff finger, pulled it with back tension. dropping the bow to see the arrow arch away, was no bueno. i had to exaggerate my follow thru hold..there was a decent breeze blowing directly into my face. it made my bow move some.

1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi.....thwock!!

i know there are some GREAT shooters here..so be gentle. i didnt miss. :D

not bad for a first. if you were staking pins, you just need to stack a little higher. if you have a slider, I would think it could be just a hair off.

what range you go to boom?

This was at briones. Thanks guys.

Some would have those touching at that distance...... Im not one of them.:) Good shooting man. I've got a place to shoot those distances and just got my slider set up this morning to do so.

...makes 60 feel like 30 after awhile.

Yep, I shoot at 80, 90, and 100 yards a lot and like charvey said, it makes the "hunting range shots" seem much more doable and easier. It makes a 30 yard shot seem like a layup and a 40 yard shot seem like a short shot. My slider sight on my current bow "only" goes to 92, so I don't shoot past that. Like was said above, I'd never shoot at a critter from that distance. It sure does wonders for concentration and form practicing from that distance though!

Good shooting. I was grouping about a 5 inch spot at 100 when shooting my back tension release. But I'm nervous to hunt with it. So I'm trying to get my trigger figured out again. I shoot it really well out to 60 but get some panic out farther than that.

I love practicing at 100 I have been shooting 100 exclusively the past 3 weeks. It will really exaggerate any form issues

Now sprint up to the target, sprint back and shoot again....lol. Really help you get ready for the season.

Good shooting. That would be a personal best for me. I'm happy with that group at 40.

My body is sponsored by Gravy. It doesn't sprint :)

(Maybe I should try it. At 60. Good idea. My last miss at a deer was like that)
