I am hoping to either draw this season or find a place nearby to scout private land. Any info you could pass along would be very much appreciated. Too new to PM.

While I hope you draw the tag, it is very unlikely as it is a true lottery tag with long odds. I hunted on the base as I didn't have much luck getting permission on private. The places that held elk off base were locked up by locals. When you draw the tag post here again and I will share everything I learned about hunting on the fort (to much info to post now as I hunted and scouted 40 plus days ) Best of luck

Hey guys don't mean to jump your thread but I was lucky enough to draw an Any Elk tag for Kansas including fort riley. I know some of the regs at fort riley and have starting getting things in order to get registered and gun registered so I will be ready to go sept. 1. I understand a lot of the elk are going to be in the off limits area and am going to do some pre scouting but any info would be much appreciated. Couldn't believe it when I got the call Friday that I drew. Have been putting in for 10-12 years
