Thanks for all the advice. Throughout the day its been feeling a little better as far as putting pressure on it. I've been able to walk without crutches as of late, but i have a serious gangsta lean. Although its more swollen now. However I'm feeeling more optimistic.

I second Hardways comments. Be sure you check your surgeon either by referral or some other method. Unfortunately for me 20+yeArs ago I knew nothing about knees nor surgeons. I took the first available ortho for an acl and meniscus tear. Several years later with further issues I met my current surgeon. He has taught me a lot about knees and has helped keep me going but was not able to reverse what the first surgeon neglected to do. My knee has now had 2acl replacements and many cleanups. It is still going strong for what it has been through and what I do to it in the woods but nothing can reverse my poor decision many years ago in selecting the wrong surgeon. Do your research, learn what you can about your knee and don't push it before it is ready. We all have a limited number of seasons but missing 1 could mean not missing many later. Good luck because injuries suk!

+1! I had to step away from MMA this winter. I loved the training and sparring. Not to mention the knowledge and self defense skills. BUT! As Ross said,we only have so many seasons. Productive ones anyway. I couldn't see risking any more knee injuries when they are my primary transportation around the mountains I love so much. Choices I guess. Good luck to you guys. Hope you all come out of it in good order. My watch word now is Aware! Be aware of your knees and take care of them.

So finally had an MRI done and it looks like I have a "medium" meniscus tear. Now I have to see an orthopedic specialist. Not sure when I'll be able to get surgery done but I it looks like I drew Colorado. That only gives me 3 months to have surgery done and get it rehabbed.

Plenty of time to rehab with surgery now, you shouldn't worry too much about it.

My knee seems to be doing well, hopefully I won't need surgery this year, only time will tell.

I agree plenty of time assuming i can get surgery done soon. But I've heard some people saying it could be some time til i may be scheduled. I have my appt with UC Davis sports medicine clinic on Wednesday. Apparantly they do surgeries for college and pro sport teams in the Sacramento region.
