Hunting canceled due to Govt Shutdown

I was checked by usfs LEOs like 2 years ago. The 2 officers were very professional and did a nice job. I was glad they were out there. Was a lot of hunters and recreators in that spot.

What were they checking for???

I bet the guys who drew S61 ram tags are sweating bullets if they didn't kill out in September. Maybe this will all be sorted out by December.

I am sitting on a buck deer tag that may be affected. Hopefully, this is all cleared up before the rut.

They just checked our licenses and tags. Made sure atv was compliant. Made sure firearm was cased on the atv. No drug alcohol, etc. Pretty standard stuff. Pleasant and made it an easy check. Cant rememner if anything else.

A friend was unloading horses to take family on a day ride in the mountains
He's gearing up and a FS girl comes and tells him he needs to pick up the
hor$e$hit that the horses drug out as he was unloading . Gave him a whole
lecture with her supposed superior knowledge.
Like the horses weren't going to crap on the trail.

Edit - just saw they updated saying that hunting access will be permitted. Good on them.

I have the unguided NR rifle tag. Imagine the roller coaster. Thought I went from best luck of all time to the worst. Called game and fish and it looks like the hunt is still on and to stay tuned about access changes.. not sure how we'll get around or if our camping access is out of the equation. At this point I don't care as long as I get to hunt the tag.. Picturing an "all permits will be refunded" email makes me sick
