Hey guys, not sure if you saw the Flat Bag sewing challenge on FB with my friend Robert Hanneman of The Huntin' Fool https://www.facebook.com/Rokslide?fref=ts Handed him his butt on a plate :)

Had a good time and decided to shoot the TAC together at Big Sky Resort. Robert and I are not big 3D guys so you should get an honest look at how we shoot in real field conditions. Robert's shooting his Bow Tech Insanity CP XL and I'm shooting my Athens Convixtion. Highest score gets the honor of talking smack about the other guy.

I'll post up as it happened.

Quick update and more to come. There's some text on FB here: https://www.facebook.com/Rokslide

I beat Robert on the Mystery Ranch Exotics course, 45-75 yards, 198 points to 184

Robert wasn't about to lie down and we headed up the mountain to shoot the MTN OPS course, 20-60 yards; looking for highest aggregate score from the two courses to keep the smack-talkin' rights

Continual teasing about my glasses from Robert but I can't see my pins without them!

Back at the parking lot, we added up scores. This is Robert's "gotcha" look:

I thought with the shorter yardages on the MTN OPS course that I'd have Robert begging for mercy. Then I spined the mule deer and took three zeros on some gimme targets. Robert kept his cool to the end. The score cards don't lie (we used the Prime course row but we did the MTN OPS course) With my hat in hand, I give the day to Robert Hanneman with a total aggregate score of 387 to my 368. Great job Robert! Now take it easy on the ol' man!

One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing my son, Cash, on his first shoot. He's nine and really wanted to try it. We shot the practice course and he did fine.

BTW, thanks to my wife for taking care of the kids ALL DAY LONG, although it doesn't look like she suffered too much.

BackcountryMT, yes, we tried some of the new MR prototype frames. Pretty sweet and looking forward to what they come up with for production

Robert is supposed to be coming in to see me at the shop this week. Excited to talk with him about it.

Can you leak any details yet? Mostly interested in weight vs the NICE and comparability with older bags.

Well, at least you have your son standing on the "right" side of the bow.;)

ha ha. Yip, him and his twin sister are lefties. I'm left eye dominant but right handed, so completely disabled, they should give me a permit.

Tell Robert hi when he comes in. No details to leak yet as they're still prototypes but they are aiming to lighten up their packs.

Not to derail this but my son is 10 and I'm looking at getting him his first bow. What does your son shoot? Also, what's a good starting point for draw weight?
