#1025. My MIL is a seamstress and I don't think it would be cost effective to make something similar. Cheap shipping, too.
Orange Aglow makes a product called a Safety Panel which exactly addresses the problem of a pack covering your vest. The panel is 115" square of blaze orange and has velcro on all four corners so it's easy to attach to your backpack (or antlers, or skull plate, or saddle, etc..).

Just when you think you have a novel idea.....
I am really glad my sewing machine crapped out on me when I was trying to attach the nylon webbing to my prototype panel last year. . I wish I had known about you guys, it would have saved me $75 on a sewing machine plus materials LOL.

I'll try out one of these as well. Since the vest is mesh, I guess it won't work for CO, but might grab one anyway for hunting elsewhere.
Mesh is legal but "discouraged" in CO. Only camo orange is illegal.
Good to know. Mesh vests are far superior.
Yes, this vest is legal in Colorado. The mesh is a pretty tight weave, so it doesn't compromise the amount of orange visible. When I was doing my square inch calculations I couldn't even pick up the white fabric behind the mesh at 6' away. I think when they were discouraging mesh, they were referring to looser weaves, maybe like those 80's basketball jerseys?. Plus the Orange Aglow vests have plenty of extra coverage beyond the minimum - the Small vest, which will fit kids and women, has over 600 square inches. The medium has 700 square inches and it only goes up from there.
Cool, man. I'll be placing a order this week. These seem like great products of which there is a need for. The mass market vests are too heavy and/or excessively overpriced.
For sizing, should we just order the size that we wear in a shirt or jacket?

I've been plugging these vests to my hunting buddies. The major manufacturers have all dropped the ball in this department.
