I believe He went missing the day after i left due to a looming blizzard warning. Forecast was up to a foot of snow and 70mph winds. Hope he is found, but folks always keep in mind, sometimes it's not worth the risk. Lots of snow, dangerously cold temps, and whiteout conditions are dangerous even if you are well prepared.

Let's hope he is found alive and well.

That storm was pretty nasty. Hopefully he's alright. Hard to land navigate in those conditions.

Certainly hoping for the best, but man, that doesn’t sound good. Curious what area in medicine bow. It’s broken up into two chunks, one of which is between Laramie and Cheyenne. The other, west of Laramie, covers a pretty big patch of country.

Doesn't look good. Also doesn't sound like he was dressed or prepared for weather.

Does not sounds good. Hopefully he was able to find shelter and build a fire. IT would be your only hope in that kind of weather.

His truck was found near FS 830, Deep Jack rd. Helicopters were used but no sign of him. Lots of snow over there and it will be late spring I fear before he is found.
Prayers for his family and girl friend.

I’ve hunted the Medicine Bow area quite a bit in the past. Could be easy to get turned around in some of that terrain.

My apologies. I misspoke. I was confusing this incident with the other missing hunter... a no -resident. He is still missing also.
Sad deal.

Do you have a link on that one? Might as well share in case anyone has any info.

There's one missing from my town in Oklahoma. His son dropped him off at his hunting spot near Durango and when he returned to get him he wasn't there. It's been a few weeks now and they've since called off the search.

He is from VA, 69 y.o. hunting with a non-resident group in Summit CO Utah. They went their own way from camp to hunt and he never returned. I don't know how to post links, but it is easily googled.

After reading some articles it appears multiple people had to be rescued during the afore mentioned blizzard.

Not only do people need to take into account their own safety, but the safety of the folks that are going to come looking for them.

If I go solo I will have a PLB on me. I am offshore alot and always carry an EPIRB so a PLB seems like second nature. Maybe it would not have mattered in either case....they could have run into a grizz, struck by lightning, etc....thats prob the worse thing for the family, not knowing what happened. Prayers for these missing men and their families
