Man I guess I had no idea how often hunters go missing...? Wonder if anyone keeps statistics on this?

One missing in SD since Sept. Older man, heat condition and diabetic. Didn't have any food or insulin with him.

I hadn't heard of that one. I'm originally from SD, but not that area. Not a rugged area really but an older fella with some health problems...likely a heart attack.

Anybody ever see an update on this? I saw they did a second search back towards the end of June and found nothing.

Appears they tried again in the summer and didn't find anything. Dude is still out there somewhere.

Still an older hunter that disappeared in area 11, nothing found as of many years later.

I believe that guy was from MN. They had missing person posters up on some of the trails out there up until a couple years ago. Some may still be up. Sad deal. The area he went missing in is super thick and pretty steep.

A PLB is some of the best money you can spend when you hunt by yourself. I never leave my truck with out it.
