Anyone get their hands on an 80 lb RX-9 ultra? My local shop just got mine in but I can’t pick it up until Jan 2nd.

I’m almost done saving for my new bow and it’s between the hoyt or the lift X in 80 pounds following…

I've had one on order since the release date. Hasn't come in yet. I ordered it in a full camo so I assume it takes longer due to that reason, but going on 8wks

Same timeframe for me. I ordered green riser, subalpine limbs.

I bought an 70#er from my local shop. Great bow, it actually bottoms out at 75lbs, they sure don't pull like a they are 75 lbs. Super smooth draw, solid backwall, but not much of a valley, they are ready to go!

I can't wait for spring when I can shoot more than a few arrows without freezing.

Crazy how everyone feels the draw differently I went this past Saturday to shoot em all and ended up with the lift x shot the hoyts dame these new Hoyt’s are stiff as hell. Not like my last hoyt from 2021. 70 pounds felt like 77 pounds. The lift is a little stiffer then my V3X and other Mathews bows as well but man imo the hoyt is leaps and bounds worse and louder on the shot but it does shoot good pretty snappy to. No free lunch with speed…

It’s definitely stiff on the front end. I’ve seen reviews that it reaches peak draw weight at 25% of the draw cycle. Something that I’m not used to coming from a Prime Logic CT3. Currently shooting 73 lbs and going to have to work my way up. Shooting a 452 grain arrow 292 fps at 29” draw, 73 lbs. Total bow weight is 7.0 lbs, my prime was 8.6 lbs.

Just bought an RX-9 this weekend. I was dead set on an AX-2 and said I’d never buy the carbon. After holding and shooting both, I couldn’t believe the difference in feedback and overall feel. The AX-2 felt like a brick compared to the RX-9.

Both were much stiffer to draw but very consistent all the way through. It will take some getting used to.

And felt a little vibration in the AX-2 although it could have been the attached info and price tags. I really wanted to like the AX-2 and brought my prebuilt specs to place an order post test drive. It sucked laying down the extra for the RX but it was night and day in my opinion. Picking it up in a few days and will report back.

I’ll be honest it stacks a bit more than the 8 and the only reason I know this is my daily is an RX-8. Not a huge difference, that’s also where you’re getting the extra speed, but it definitely is not as smooth as the previous years draw cycle.

I picked mine up yesterday, have it pulling 75# right now. With a 450 grain arrow and 29.5" draw length I'm around 296 fps (the shop set it up at 85% let off, I'll change it to 80%). I'm glad to see the speed, my draw length was right at the bottom of the mod with my previous Hoyt which came with a speed penalty.

It's shooting bullet holes, but I was under spined with my 300s. Had to cut them down an inch or so, and took some weight out of the insert to get it shooting perfect.

I have the AX2 and one of the two RX9-U I ordered. Definitely a stiffer draw than the last few years, but it’s smoother through the full cycle with no pronounced dump into the valley. Plus I picked up 18 fps. Now that I’ve shot them for a while, I don’t notice the draw. But it was very obvious in the beginning, especially after having taken a couple months off of shooting.

I’d have thought with your specs you’d be at 310.
My arrow and DL are same as yours and I’m getting 306 with RX-8 80 lb. Wasn’t the average increase to be 18fps?

Were you using a decent chrono?
