How’s your fuel prices

Well, we're about 60 hours out from your post. The ceasefire ends tomorrow. What's the different story we're were guaranteed to hear and see?

It’s a different story, totally different. People are talking about it everywhere, they’re saying it’s the greatest story ever told. Bigger than anything, really. Nobody’s seen anything like it. And the best part? It just keeps getting better, believe me.

Ceasefire extended, apparently indefinitely by Pakistan requesting.
Blockade stays in place.

The future of our plant’s system of energy is being transformed.
A little patience seems appropriate.

So you made a "guarantee" about a deadline and now you are going to lecture us on patience?

It's wild how much mental gymnastics folks will go through so they can continue to worship their chosen political overlords.

Trump extended the ceasefire. As I type this, Iran is parading missiles around unprotected (confirmed by multiple sources on the ground) in anticipation of the official ceasefire ending. It does not appear that Iran has agreed to an extension. No official meetings were held. Ceasefires require the agreement of both or all parties. Israel has also stated that they are not obligated or bound by any US agreements. Iran perceives Israeli actions as being unilateral with those of the US. Seeing how the US keeps verbally reaffirming ally status with Israel despite no formal defense pact between the 2 countries, it is difficult to argue that Iran's position on that matter is invalid.

I mean, for the sake of global stability and to spare the world a spiraling energy crisis, I do hope you are correct. But all available empirical evidence suggests we are heading in the opposite direction.

It is, but it's nothing new. I remember 18 years ago the popular guy was saying he'd end the wars and there would be no more new wars. He even got a Nobel Peace Prize for his rhetoric. We then proceeded to have 8 years of war (first and only time for a 2-term admin) and we started/entered 3 new wars.

Some people even believe that we wouldn't be in this war had an election gone differently. People are wild.

Yes, my time guesstimate of some sort of solution to our planets future of energy, was 12 hours late.
My apologies.

I'm excited to see what high prices all summer do for tourist and hunting demand. I didn't see anybody in the turkey woods last weekend and I would definitely pay higher gas prices for that to continue.

Based on my driving it would cost about $1200 more a yr in fuel based on current price escalation. Burn it down.

I'm not gonna lie this crossed my mind as well. Fishing Easter weekend on the coast there was almost nobody in the bays. I think we'd need prices to stay high into hunting season though.

The US/Canada border lockdown during covid made
summer recreation in the Kalispell area quite pleasant.
Every cloud........

I don't see how we see a huge reduction in prices anytime soon. We are just getting into peak demand season and the Iran thing gets muddier by the day.

This news should help frame expectations for how long oil prices will remain effected:

According a pentagon intelligence report relayed to congress, it could take 6 months to clear the strait of mines. This of course, assumes that no additional mines are added during that window.

Its unclear what the exact plan is with removing mines. The US Navy still has a few dedicated mine sweepers that are set to be decommissioned in 2027. Or, It could end up being more of a job exclusively for drones. Germany has also indicated that they will send minesweepers. Presumably, none of these operations will take place until there is resolution.

Seriously.
During the election, I remember saying to everyone who would listen "He'll keep us out of wars!"
Now I say, "we were going to war regardless of who was elected!"
It is so weird to me that people just don't get it.

Not even 12 hours has passed into the extended "ceasefire" and Iran has already fired upon 3 ships in the Strait.
I don't recall seeing whoever is in charge of Iran's military agree to to extending Trump's cease fire.

Not arguing or defending either side here or claiming to believe any
side's propaganda or knowing who is in charge on either side.
I'm not expecting Diesel to get below $4 and inflation to easily break 15% within a year regardless of what happens militarily/politically.

Just glad we're not at war. That could get costly.
