Howa Short Action Bolt Swap Question

I have this older Howa short action 223. It never gets shot since I bought the Tikka 223. I want to put a 6 Creed barrel on it so I'll actually use it. The bolt face is the last piece of the puzzle.

Is the bolt swap as easy as finding a 0.470 bolt face used bolt and swapping them out?

If you headspace the barrel off the new bolt, that’s all you need.

Check trading your rifle for a regular bolt face Howa, probably be less.

There is a guy who sells complete Howa bolts in eBay I have bought. I was gonna do a switch barrel Howa, and had all the pieces, but never used the .223 bolt.

I found that guy too. That's probably the direction I'll go and then just sell the 223 bolt. hopefully...

Consider the cost of the trigger as well. The newer have the nicer two stage trigger.

Also, Preferred Barrels does really nice prefits for the Howa. I got one for my mini and it was money.
