My zastava I load to 3.43” the 242HHT might make me get it out of the safe this fall. The only fly in the ointment is the bullets I have on hand vs $2/bullet for the hammers when I regularly don’t shoot over 300yds

I’ve been happy with 6.5-284. Runs smooth out of a standard LA mag. Plenty of room to run the big 156 Berger. Grafs has Petersen brass in stock. 750 Taperless barrel at 20” will give plenty of velocity for most situations.

I think I’m still leaning towards the .280 AI since it’s been on my radar to build for quite some time. But the 9.3 might be the second rifle I build now given its performance!

I’ve had a couple of people recommend tbe 750 taper less barrel. This seem heavy though for a hunting rifle? They’re listed around 5 lbs compared a #2 or #3 contour weighing in at 2.5-3 lbs.

Am I off base on the weight? Maybe the 20” barrel cuts off enough that’s it’s not as heavy?

I don’t have a weight. The 750 is good if you want to run a can just enough meat for 5/8 threads. I see no reason you can’t go lighter contour though if weight is your goal.
