Would the consensus be that Varget is probably the best option to chase velocity with a temp stable powder? I need something as stable as possible cause I will hunt form 75-80 degrees in the early season to 10-20 degrees in the late season.

Stable and accurate but it won’t be fast. 2600-2650 FPS is a good velocity though.

From my experience, lever groups leave a lot to be desired until you’re at or near or above listed Max loads.

I got 2800fps with 95tmk and lever in 16” barrel at 2.3” OAL. I was cratering primers. 2700-2750 all day no issues.

Youll get 2800 in a 20” barrel with lever no issue I’d think
I should would like to find some 95 tmk bullets.. heard they would be in stock around mid January but that hasn't happened anywhere I can find

100gr tgk are hitting dealers, sierra told me the 95s were getting ran after that. I have several thousand on back order from a few vendors via my smiths dealer account.

Has anyone used a Timney Trigger in a Stockys VG stock with JO Bottom Metal? As in does it fit without modification? I reached out to JO and his response was he hadn't personally but had other customers state it wasn't a problem. Just seeing if anyone on here has? If it clears and works fine, I am thinking about ordering the timney.

Some discussion about Timney triggers and bottom metal here. Looks like @Kaleb in the post I linked is running a Timney and JO bottom.

I don’t recall having to make room for the trigger with the bottom metal. It’s been a year or two so I could have forgot? I did have to dremel out some of the stock but I always expect that. I by no means want to sound rude by saying this but when I’m changing triggers stocks and bottom metal I look at slight modifications as part of it. It’s just part of proper reassembly. Just like 223’s have to be modified for longer coal. Barrel channels sometimes require some sanding out action inlets need a little took out here and there sometimes bottom metal fits just right sometimes it doesn’t. I promise if I can do it anyone can haha.

I put a Timney in my mini. The stock trigger is back further on the actual assembly. The Timney is more forward and a larger curve. So it will need like 1/8” or less trimmed in the guard to allow the bottom metal to sit properly. My gunsmith did it for me.

Someone told me that the Oregongunsmith bottom metal doesn’t need any modification.

Has anyone purchased/tested the scope/rifle combo from Howa? I am looking to get a budget setup 6mm arc to start tinkering with the cartridge. I figured 550 or so is a low cost barrier to entry and I can always just upgrade the stock/optics etc later down the road.

Alternatively I can start with a RAR gen 2 but thats more of an investment im not willing to make right off the bat.
