I have some older cams they are made by hunten outdoors let them soak 5 weeks went in with a chip reader and my android tablet with a moultrie reader and somehow it wiped 2 of my 4 chips out luckily I left the 2 alone and brought them back into town and put them into a computer what do I need to not wipe my chips out to check them in the field

There should be a lock switch on the chip. I believe that would prevent it from being erased.

That sucks so bad!!!! I've used a stealth cam card reader (iPhone) for the past 2 seasons and its never wiped anything clean without telling it to. It always works great. Did it ask you if you wanted it to format the card??? Mine has an app that you download before you use it. You just open the app and insert the card reader and select the DCMI folder and the pictures open up.
Seriously though trail cams are so fun but so frustrating. I went and checked one a few weeks ago and it had several thousand black pictures with the date and time stamp at the bottom of each picture. There were day time picture that were great, i guess the IR flash decided it didn't want to work....
Good luck I hope you get it figured out!!

Idk where I went wrong yet but will figure it out
