How often do you get to do this?

How many days do you get to hunt, trap, scout etc. during the year?

I'm sure I'm not the only one to occasionaly get whiny about how little time I get to do what I love to do. So I'm curious, how often do others get to get out and enjoy those outdoor adventures their passionate about? Maybe I'm right there with everyone else and have no room to complain.

I chose 30+ because I included competitive shooting, practicing, hiking, kayaking, and hunting, but I'm retired with a very understanding wife so lots of time.
Good for you, that's the way to retire. Since 30+ seems to be the popular selection I'm curious now where that "plus" really is. Updated poll.

This is rokslide, you need to adjust up your numbers! According to my wife 300 plus, reality 100 plus if we’re talking shooting, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, etc.
Yeah I see that now, I updated the poll. I was thinking true all day backcountry excursions and figured most will top out at about 30 full days in the bush. A day at the range, a hike with the family or a rod in your hand absolutely qualifies for "doing what you love to do"

I picked 30+. I don’t work on Fridays and save most of my vacation days for the hunting season. With scouting I’m probably over 40 days some years, but I don’t scout much anymore. I enjoy just heading to a new area and figuring it out on the fly.

20-30 here is what i chose, I generally take off a week and half to deer hunt with muzzloader and rifle. Mix in a few bow days here n there, spring turkey on the weekends, and a 3-4 day hog trip and some squirrel hunting with the dogs and I should be close to 30 if not over 30 usually

If you count fishing, shooting, hiking etc. mushroom hunting, I could get to 40+

Does scouting count?

I know I spent around 30 days in my truck camper setup last year. Add in some day trips for waterfowl, an AirBNB turkey hunt, and a few backpacking trips and I'm somewhere in the 40s.

Add fishing and I'm probably around 60. Working four 10's helped pump the numbers up last year.

Also helps to be single, renting and no pets.

10-20 hunting & fishing days now that I have a little dude at home. That number will be increasing as he gets older and can join in on more trips. He has already been on 2 hunting trips and tons of fishing days.

Shooting for much higher numbers this year.

I put 50+ I’m pretty fortunate that I get to hunt and scout after work pretty much any day I want to on top of my weekend hunting and scouting trips. Before going back to college it was probably more along the lines of 100+ days a year.

Some of my favorite adventures were those I got to share with my boys.

60+, not retired. As my kids would say, full send! Going to be a day that I can't, and is like to have a few memories to ride it that time.

I’m down in the 10-20 range because I’ve got a young family. Toddlers don’t make great pack-out buddies, so my hunting has dialed back to 2-3 “big” public land trips a year along with trying to fill my deer tags on private land as fast as possible so I don’t drown in chores

We are fortunate because they're is something to hunt all year long. I'd like to spend more time this year going after rockchuckers, yotes and coons though. But between hunting and scouting we easily do 60 plus days.

10-15 days waterfowl, 10-15 days deer hunting on my property, 5 days moving stands/cameras and trimming lanes, 3 days shed hunting/ late winter scouting, 12-15 times a year mowing trails in my woods/scouting, 100 times a year sitting in my hot tub staring at the woods "scouting" with a rifle in the corner in case we see a coyote. Every other day of the year checking my cell cams/ staring at the woods/ dreaming

I voted in faith that I will have the time I need for mule deer, bear and elk and hopefully a late spring/summer scouting trip but I have a lot of things happening this year.
