How much more warmth should I notice?

Switching from my old beat-up bombproof z-lite, that is so used it's probably less warm than other zlites, to an xTherm.

I use a 20degree EE prodigy (I like synthetic). How much additional warmth should I realistically expect?

I went to the X Therm 4 years ago and it's noticeably warmer than other self inflating pads I'd used. Being a cold sleeper, it was a gift from above.

While I had my Z-lite, I kept wanting to spend my money on warmer, better sleeping bags. Since I got my XTherm, I keep wanting to buy lighter bags with higher temp ratings. My latest purchase was a 1-lb Western Mountaineering bag.

On two nights with similar temps and conditions, I went from sleeping well in a 4-lb, 0-degree bag on my Z-lite, to being comfortable in a 2.3-lb, 20-degree bag on my XTherm. Plus, the XTherm is much more comfortable because of the thickness and adjustable inflation.

Awesome. Can't wait to try it out. Did you get the mummy cut or the MAX cut on the xtherm?

Mine is the regular size (mummy shape). I don't think the max was offered when I bought mine. I don't mind the mummy shape, but sometimes I wish I had the large size.

I sleep with a quilt also, any of you guys ever pack like a little lightweight piece of fleece or something to lay under you on the pad? Ive wondered about trying a warmer pad but wondered if something like that would work just as well. or maybe even using a sleeping bag liner?
