How Many Rounds?

50 in the box because it'll be full when I load it in the truck. When im hiking around, 3 in the gun and 4 spare in my bino harness. If I can't figure it out with that many something is wrong or I suck and I dont need to be flinging that many rounds thru the air.

At least 100. Enough to sight in a new scope. I take 20 into the back country on a horse trip and ten if I have to carry them, but there’s no reason not to have more than you need in your vehicle.

^^^ This, almost exactly. I'll have 2 loaded mags on me (1 in gun, 1 on belt) plus 1 box in the pack, and back at the truck/camp there several more boxes in an ammo can, for exactly the reasons @EastHumboldt said. Between sighters once arriving and a hunt itself, I don't think I've ever shot more than 8-10 rounds total. But there's just no good reason not to have that ammo can back at the truck. Plus, I mean, hey, there are some zones in NorCal where you just never know if hostile banjos, bongos, or nacrocorridos might fire up at you.

I usually take a MTM box of 50 because we get some long range shooting in after our hunt is over. Shooting 700-1,000 yards is a blast, don’t get to do it often here at home.
