Yeah so long as she's with me it'd work. My cell phone doesn't take pictures and barely can text in the form of hitting the "2" button 3 times to get the letter "C". :D

I am, but sadly never hauled any of the Word into the backcountry before, with us jumping into the 21st century by my wife getting an iPhone seems like we could easily get the whole Bible for the weight of a new testament. :D

I love how you claim you didn't need an iPhone, but I haven't had it 48 hours yet and you are already making plans for mine :) Guess I will share if you are nice...and if you carry it :)

Seriously though, a wealth of cool Christian apps that will be great for access and encouragement away from home. Daily Audio Bible is nice for relaxing if you want to hear some one else read His Word. If you are out of range, download a few ahead of time....

I am a christian aswell, been carrying the word into the woods since last year. Some thing about reading passages of his word in his country does something to me. :)

My wife and I are faithful Christians. We also own a Christian bookstore and supply business that my wife runs. It's called Reilly's Church Supply in Boise, ID. Check us out online at www.reillyschurchsup.com 1000 S. Vista Ave.

St. Hubert is the patron saint of hunters and archers - call and have them find you a medal. My wife found a great one for me - I haven't missed since!!

I am a christian, although not the best at times. I have my daily struggles as do we all. There are a lot of questions that need answers, one day (Hope not soon) I get to ask and have answered.

Hate to see yet another debate going on about this, but I understand. I will be journeying to the mountains for the first time this year. I can't wait to see the creation and everything that I've been missing out there. I struggle and wrestle with God daily. He has called us to an intelligent faith, not a blind faith. If you begin with preconceived notions about Christ or Christianity, you will reach those same conclusions. In the end, no amount of evidence will prove anything to you if you don't want to believe. It is that simple. There should be no arguement in this. This thread was started to glorify God's creation and basically to reflect upon and thank Him for it. No need to argue about what everyone's beliefs are or trying to disprove or sway others' beliefs as uninformed.

I am a Christian as well, and yes I struggle daily with my shortcomings. To me its way harder to not believe in Jesus Christ than it is to believe that a giant explosion of dust created all of this!! Just saying....

For me, there is no where else on earth that I feel closer to God than the mountains. When I see the incredible beauty of the surroundings and the intricacies of the circle of life, I know He is there.

By the grace of God, I'm a Christian. To me, creation proves there is a God, just as the Bible says:

“The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands,” Psalm 19:2

“Before the mountains were born, or You brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, You are God,” Psalm 90:2.

The incredible thing about the Biblical God vs. all other gods, is His love for us:

For God so loved the world (that means each of us!) that he gave his only Son that whoever would believe would not perish but have eternal life (my paraphrase of the incredible John 3:16)

That's awesome Robby. I am a Christian as well. I sometimes take my little bible but now with all the apps for phones there is awesome stuff available so I am gonna start taking it.

It's awesome to know so many hunters are Christians as well. I hope they got screaming bulls upstairs when I go!!!

Well it's Sunday and I'm glancing at this post before going to church. It kind of seems fitting to have my first post on this forum be on this post. I've been a Christian since 1989, born again then. I'm thankful seeing a post here like this and it is refreshing and a blessing. I love the backcountry, backpacking hunting most as far as big game hunting goes. Just wanted to say hi here to everybody on here. God bless you all.

As far as what I do in the backcountry I take the iPod with the bible audio version. I work an Apple Inc so I've been blessed to have access to some awesome products. It kind of helps on solo trips to connect with God daily. I'm also into photography so I like to use the pictures taking pictures of God's awesomeness and make them into cards to send to friends and family. I'll add a verse to the cards and then I'll send out with added notes and such as kind of a personal touch.

Hey Everyone,

A thread like this should stay as positive and motivating as possible, so any negative response will be deleted. We allow and encourage debate in other areas, but this thread was started for people to share a common interest (faith) and I would like to keep it that way.

I did delete the last few responses to keep a positive atmosphere going... hope you don't mind.

Thanks
