How light can you get a tikka?

Thats light. What does LOP end up at in those P44 stocks? For some reason I had it in my head they were shorter than normal.

My sample of one is 13.25”.

Personally, I prefer shorter LOP. It makes it easier to square up behind the rifle properly. Especially with layers or a pack on.

I think I looked into one at some point, that sounds like what I remembered. Totally fair on the length preference, Im just really tall and been grooved-in with longer for 30+ years, so it stuck with me. My plan on my current stock was to replace the current pad with a thicker microcell, should be same or maybe an ounce or two lighter than it is currently.

I am struggling to get below 8lbs all in. This includes a CAN. Maybe if I switch to airlock and Talley or Hawkins rings I can get there
Have you had a chance to put this together? Where did it end up?
Just got mine back from cut/thread as well. Mine landed at 6lb 12 oz for the gun + 3-9 trijicon in sportsmatch rings, so 7lb 5oz with my suppressor.

I am at 9.2 lbs with ammo in a 6.5CM cut to 16” TBAC u7 rail, Warne rings maven 1.2. RS stock In could lose 10ozs going back to the bastion stock.

That being said I am waiting on a new barrel for a Tikka in 6.5 Grendel with the plan of using the Bastion stock and a SWFA 6x. This is my sub 300 yard set up. Goal will be 7.8 lbs. IMG_1484.jpeg

What is included in that 19oz?
As you see it. Comes with a recoil lug, choose your own bottom metal. I’m taking out the swivel studs and installing a 4” SRS Arca plate.

Only about twenty rounds down range but so far I love it. Minor gripes:

No buttpad above bore, but I’ll fix that with a 3D printed solution to dial in LOP anyway.

No QD cups but I have some I’ll install.

Wasn’t there a front page article a few years ago about a guy taking a 30-06 tikka, cutting it, modding it and putting it in a wildcat stock???

if i was after a super flyweight i’d probably go with something like a Montana or a Model 7….. for whatever reason, Tikkas seem to shine in the 7.5-8.5# ready to go range for me. this one is 8lbs 8oz as pictured (minus bipod) and it feels very nice. Could certainly drop weight in the mounting setup and by going to a 2.5-10x42 NF.
