140 yards and 30 degrees up hill.

Previous year on a sheep that I passed on would have been 350 yards and about 20 degrees down, with zero opportunities to get closer.

After year 1 I spent alot more time shooting at steep angles and it made the difference on my 2nd sheep hunt.

Shot my first stone at 300 even, and the second at 320ish. My wife shot her late season bighorn at 85-100 yards, and missed a 272 yard shot the day before.

Man some of you guys are sheep machines!

Sample of 2 here.......... Bighorn Ram number 1, longbow 12-13 yds. Bighorn Ram number 2, compound 23 yds.

I don't have any experience with thinhorns, but it seems to me that in general, there are alot less trees in their habitat vs the "Common Bighorn" although they too (BHs) are found above timberline alot. Either way, alot of dead sheep in this thread.
