I’ve shot 3 myself and all under 200 yards. Have watch 7 others fall down that ranged between roughly 50 to 200 yards with one being around 350. During these hunts I never thought long distance shooting was needed if you work the terrain. With that said, I’ve been on stalks where the terrain wasn’t workable and longer shot are required if you choose to do so.
Been about ten years since is hot one with a rifle. It was about 130 yds. I’ve shot a half dozen or since then spot and stalk with the bow and avg is probably 45-50 yds
If I remember correctly, I've killed 14 antelope, but I don't remember all the distances. Just guessing I'd have to say the average shot has to be right about 200 yards. I remember the two longest shots, one was with my 338 Win. Mag. at 330 yards, and the longest shot I've ever taken was 380 yards with my 270 Win.
The last dozen or so had an average of slightly over 200 yards. Just this past Fall I dug out my notes and tallied up the results when another fellow asked. My shots on bucks was a bit further than my average on does.
My wife's average during the same period of time was close to 275 yards.
My average for bow is around 30 yards and for rifle around 175 yards. I always try to get within 200 yards and know the antelope is dead....even in Wyo's blasting winds. Almost every antelope I've shot is from a prone position off a backpack. I've shot a number of bucks off my spotting scope on a tripod (tall brush or where I couldn't shoot prone).
