Just like title says how do you carry in your stuff if your running a mobile stand setup? Kinda hard to carry a backpack with a climbing stand on my back, what's everyone else do?

I use a Blacks Creek All American. I hang the shoulder straps over the top of my climber and my pack rides on the back of my climber.

There’s a lot on this forum about this topic, but the two main methods seem to be 1) the load shelf on a western hunting style frame with daypack, or 2) the molle harness mod. #1 is a better way to haul in clothes, water, etc., but #2 is easier and more convenient if you have less stuff.

I’ve found that, if you’re just walking to your stand location, method #2 with a large fanny pack riding in front is perfect, but if you’re scouting around or hiking a ways, a pack system is better and more versatile. As of recently, I have and use both setups, although my modded harness is not the molle one. Similar though.

This season I will use a Stone Glacier Krux or X-curve frame with a Sky Archer 6200 bag. I think I will use that all season. Really no downside to that for mobile, plenty of room for clothes and packs down to nothing when not loaded up. Chain some camp pockets and add a few swing out pockets for organization of smaller items and I have a molle2 radio pouch against the frame up top for an extra pouch. Climber or hang on fits with no trouble. No more draggin deer out either...

Depends on where I’m going. Usually a fanny pack will hold all that I need for a day hunt, other times I hand hold my back pack or I strap it to my stand which is on my back (rarely do I do this...or need to where I hunt)

I bought surplus army hip belt and shoulder straps off of amazon. Attached them to my stand, and then use large diameter (hard to stretch), bungy cords that hold the sticks to the stand. I carry my bow in, where my harness, and fill pockets with tree strap and a water bottle. If I was sitting all day I would add a small bag to the stand to carry food and whatnot. I have walked a mile or so doing this, its very comfortable. For me, its the best set up that has the least moving parts compared to using a backpack like I used to do.

This year it’s gonna be a LW alpha and sticks with molle shoulder straps and waist belt with a fanny pack attached to the stand for small items and bulky clothes bungee corded to the stand for the long walks to the stand to prevent overheating. Last year it was the same stand, sticks, and molle set up but I was using a backpack to carry items and would put the back pack shoulder straps over the top of the stand and on top of the sticks and then lash it down with bungee cords. It worked alright but I’m hoping the fanny pack set up will be lower profile and more secure.

Molle straps and belt on a hang on stand paired with a kifaru sherman pocket. The sherman functions like a cargo panel but with about the same amount of storage as the fanny packs I have used.

Regular straps that came on my Lone Wolf, 3-6 sticks, heavy clothes/small pouch strapped onto stand. Finally bought a framed backpack for this year, hope that'll make things a bit easier.

I use the Sitka Tool Bucket. I usually have 4 sets of Hawk Helium Climbing sticks and the lightest stands I can find. I absolutely love the functionality of that pack. I also have the mystery ranch treehouse. I have never used it as I am just to in love with the tool bucket.

I try to stay lean and mobile. SG solo in the cold with lone wolf and sticks. Swap the solo with the Serac 1700 in warmer temps. Heck sometimes I just go in with the krux frame, dry cell bag and stand/sticks. Conditions very but similar set ups keeps things practical and familiar for me.

LW Assault II, Molle II shoulder straps, 3 Hawk helium climbing sticks, moveable aider and everything I need to get up a tree, minus my harness and pack. I was running the kidney belt too, but ive had some health problems this year and my back will be thankful for the diet I put my set up on this year and the kidney belt was on the diet.

Other than that I run an Edelrid Zach harness with a few ropes, a cheap fanny pack with license/tags, grunt tube, range finder, a light, one knife and water. I hunt public 99% of the time and rarely hunt the same area twice.

I keep a kill kit and pack at the truck. When I get one down I take my stand and gear back, lose some clothes, grab the kill pack and top off on fluids and head back in for the deer. If its not a bad drag, ill drag it out whole without going to the truck first. If I'm deep or the terrain is real bad ill quarter it and use my stand as a frame. I've got enough straps to make it work. I may end up putting the kidney belt back on in preparation of that.

backpack straps on the stand itself, then I hang a day pack on the stand, over the sticks. When I get to the tree, the pack comes off and I tie it to my pull-up rope. Then I hang the stand on my back and put up my sticks or steps as I go up. Once I hang my stand, I pull up my day pack and my bow/rifle. If I plan well, it's one trip up and one trip down the tree.

Whole setup weighs right at 25 lbs. total.

I got pretty good at this after 20 years + of practice, but after turning 45 or so, and after a back surgery, I tend to look for easier trees to climb or just stay on the ground. Thankfully I have a lease now where I can put up ladder stands and brush them in, which is a much safer option for me. My wife really appreciates that especially since I nearly lost a finger in a tree stand accident 15 years ago.

Most of the time I have my kifaru scout pack with my summit UL over the top, most of my whitetail hunting is done in the urban parts of New Hampshire’s sea coast walks are less than a half mile to the spots I have picked out but if im going to do any real walking with my climber I’m going to have the thing strapped to my Emr2 and call it a day

Sticks and stands seem to be the popular config. Any particular reason guys are avoiding climbing stands?

with a climbing stand you are really limited on which trees you can get up and they're not always in the spots you need to be in order to kill the deer you're after.

with a hang on and sticks I can get in virtually any tree, anywhere

I only take my Lone Wolf hand climber if I am positive I am going to hunt a certain tree that I know it will work in.
