I bought some Kydex and made a hanger for my bow. It goes through the Molle on my Pack Belt and hangs by the grip. Works perfect.

I have a neoprene bow sling that protects the strings. Throw the strap over my pack stays. If I am strictly traveling at night or whatever...I will strap it to my pack with that sling protecting the strings.

Like with rifles...I don't get guys wanting to carry it in their hand all the time and not over their shoulder. I like having two hands when traversing steep country or dead falls etc.

I went with the simple belt clip style off Amazon and it works great for what I need. You can hang off string or handle. I really just wanted it for those moments you could really use both hands. I found myself trying to hang off trees when I was turkey hunting in the mountains.

Setting up your bow to carry it on shoulders/around neck is what I found works best (longer stabilizer/sight housing). Completely hands free and I never have to set my bow on the ground.

Allows me to hike/drive atv/climb tree stand/cross fences and not have to worry about it. Bow is easily accessible, while still being completely out of the way. Only time I have to carry it in my hand is in super thick cover (low branches) or when you have quarters loaded.

I do have those hooks you have pictured on my Marsupial Gear bino harness but I rarely use them. Trying to get into the habit of using them and stop placing the bow on the ground.

Quivalizer and bow hook on my pack belt. Hands free the majority of the time with quick and easy access to grab the bow. No need to carry a bow for long periods; I’ve been doing it this way for many years. Big thing is getting the weight onto the belt. Works with 15” or longer stab as well

Carried the Montana Bow Sling for 9 days in Idaho, loved it...bow was always right there ready to go. Was easy to carry and I liked using the bow as an arm rest. We were in steep country, so I used one trekking pole (right hand) and kept the bow on the left. We went in via horseback and I used the other attachments for an over the shoulder bow sling. This was my first elk trip, but I'd highly recommend. My companions had other slings, and had a lot more trouble getting their bows out and ready when we were working bulls.

I use a bow hook on my pack belt. Great for hands free glassing. This year I had quick sticks on my bow, so didn’t use the hook as much. Might try not running the hook next time out.

Got a photo? It’d be cool to see. Need something like this.

I have a Badlands bino harness, and it has a little hook that’s perfect for hanging a bow by the D-loop. I don’t feel the added weight since I’m already shouldering a pack.

Now, I have an Exo K3 pack with a hipbelt pouch on the left. And if I don’t wanna use my bino harness, I just set the string between the pouch and the belt. Works for me. No fabricating or buying other hooks.

(In the picture, a couple lens wipes fell out. I DID pick them up after the picture was taken.)IMG_0566.jpeg

I used the kifaru gun bearer last year and really liked it. Probably takes 2 seconds to get your bow out of the sling. It creates a little bit of noise (not too loud) when your taking the bow out, that can be eliminated by going slow.

I tried the marsupial gear hooks and did not like them.

Here’s a picture of the kifaru gun bearer. My hand is resting on the bow. To remove the bow from sling you have to pull tab by shoulder.
