How do I private message someone

Sorry, I know this probably isn't the right place for this but I can't figure out how to private message someone from my iPhone. What am I doing wrong?

If you're using tapatalk just touch the persons username in the top left of the page. An orange "message" bar will appear. Touch it then add a subject and start your message.

If you're using the website, touch the notifications on the top of the page by your username. This will open a new page and there's an option on the left side for new message. Type the persons username you wish to message. Add a subject and message and hit send.

All of this is from memory after waking up and before coffee

That was me touching your username at the top then touching the orange message bar.

On he web page you can also click on someone's green name in a thread and it will give you a few options like View Profile, Private Message, View Posts, etc.

Thank you for your replies. I am using the Mobil version and it doesn't give me an option for private message when I tap the user name I wish to message. Typing in the username looks like that will work though
