Hot Weather Hunting Clothing

I won a limited draw to hunt a piece of property in East Texas in November. The last time I won the same draw, I was unsuccessful. My lack of success involved a lot of factors, and I am making adjustments (I had never tried hunting deer in a forest without the benefit of a tree stand).

One thing I learned from the last hunt was that I needed better clothing for hot, humid weather. On the first hunt, I was sweating like a pig and went through more water than I expected. My clothing was sub-optimal, and I made a shit ton of noise moving around.

My plan this time:
  • Hunt from a ground blind. A tree stand is not an option on the property.
  • I have to exit the property each night and sneak in before first light.
  • Blaze orange dry fit shirt,
  • Lightweight, breathable pants,
  • Lightweight socks,
  • I have to wear a blaze orange hat, so I am looking for one. Once I get in the blind, it is coming off.
Surely, some of you hunt in hot, humid forests. Are there any other things I should be looking at in terms of clothing? If it is cold, I already have all the clothing I need.

Thank you in advance for any helpful advice you may have (brand, materials).

Pants with vents, sun shirt. I like the sun shirts fishing brands put out. I wear them all summer fly fishing and backpacking and use them midday for southern New Mexico muzzleloader seasons.

Kuiu Tiburon series pants & shirts are the lightest, more breathable clothing I’ve tried.

I live in GA and work outdoors year-round. I’ve invested in the Tiburon series which covers me from April-October most years.
Wrangler ATG pants are a more budget friendly alternative, but not as good as the Tiburon’s

If your in a ground blind the Tiburon is hard to beat but you try to bust brush in those they gonna get shredded. But they breathe super well. The fan idea seems like a good idea. There peloton 118 works pretty good as well drys fast too.

Maybe a good idea to just strip down in that blind. Shorts and a cut off tee. Add that fan, idk what else you can do. Someone can chime in that does it
