Homer, AK Charter July Needed

Hey, I’m looking for a mixed charter at the end of July for halibut out of Homer. Everything I’ve seen so far is booked, anyone have any local connects?

I’ve gone with jobs trophy charters several times. I’ve never had a bad day with them. We always limit out on rockfish in like 30 minutes or less, get our halibut then just catch cod for a few hours. I like the smaller 6 person boats, I’d never pay to go on one of those 20+ seater things. The days off and the knotty lady are good boats.

There’s a processor in home that will pick up fish at the dock and you just go get it the next day. No reason to be cutting fish in your hotel room or in one of those gross cleaning stations on the Homer spit.

There’s a restraint on the spit that will cook some fish you bring them.

Talk to Boo Kandas with Tall Tale Charters. I don't know if he still does it, but he's one of if not the only boat out of Homer that specializes in artificial jigs over the normal circle hook and bait fishing. I deckhanded for him awhile back, I went the whole season without touching a piece of herring and we were bringing back just as nice of fish as everyone else, if not more. Super cool guy, if he's got room he'll take care of you.

Give my buddy Josh a call. Been a captain out of Homer for 10 years, split with his previous partner this winter so he has his own new boat now. Has the current largest fish brought into Buttwhackers this year at 150#s.
