Hog hunting tips

You should be fine if it warms up
Compared to this weekend.

You can hunt under green lights legally here. Your outfitter may not allow it and it does required a lighted bow sight or you won’t hit anything. Also lighted nocs. Just be prepared to watch $40 of arrow, bowhead and noc run into the woods and disappear. I stopped bow hunting them
As I got tired of the expense or they trash the arrow and broadhead. I started buying the cheapest broadheads I could for them as they generally break a blade off if it’s stuck in them.

PM me and send a number the week before you come.
Similar with me as @RWT...i will only hunt them with an X-bow (vs compound or recurve) to ensure a pass through of the bolt/broadhead.

IME, wIth long two-blade broadheads pass throughs aren't an issue with an X bow unless the spine is hit.

Have fun and good luck :)

I wouldn't add anything to the bait area if they are already feeding corn. Check their game cameras and go to the most active one. With the cold weather they are active pretty much all day but are very wary of any new smells in the area. They don't deal with changes well. They don't see well but their noses are excellent.

Try to avoid a feeder with a recent kill. It usually takes at least a week after a kill for them to come back.

Good luck! Here in Texas we are overrun with the darn hogs.
