I will be flying in. One of the guys I am hunting with is driving in and starting to hunt a week before me, plus the week I am there. So he will be able to haul stuff for me, nice he can bring the meat back for me as well.

Looks like you guys are stacking them up during daylight hours. Sounds like most of my chances will probably come after dark under green light. I better start practicing shooting in the dark under a lit up target.

Make sure he doesn't booger up all the stands before you get there. Pigs are very smart about baited stands, even at night, and you don't always get a favorable wind where you want one when you want one., so you will want a robust selection of virgin territory.

Scouting and camp noise/activity will also put pigs on alert.

Like ole swamp fox up there said, pigs might be blind and they might be deaf, but dang them suckers can smell. That’s how they find bait so well. I’d also add if you see some pigs starting to straggle in it’s a lot like deer. Mature boars/bucks will come alone, fawns/does/piglets/and sows aka sounders will always be lead by a small pig and normally once one or two get settled the rest will feel comfortable. If they spook and you are still they can migrate back.

Run a light con trail 100-200 yards from you. When they find it, the sound of pigs crunching will ignite the competitiveness of other pigs and they'll come in, too.

One other maxim: there is no such thing as too much corn.

The place I am going to has people hunting before an after I am there. I get the impression they rotate areas so they aren’t over hunted. The guy I am going with mostly goes for javelinas and doesn’t care that much about hogs. He’s been going there for several years and said he has only shot a couple hogs in daylight hours though. I just talked to a guy I know that hunted there a few years back. He said he only seen a few hogs. He shot one that he didn’t find. I was hoping to shoot at least a couple in a 5 day period, but sounds like that maybe a long shot. Feeders are there, but it’s a DIY style hunt. If you’re saying there’s no such thing as too much corn, should a guy dump a bunch of bags out day 1?
