Hip Pouch or not?

Yes.

One pouch will hold 5 extra rounds. The other pouch is for whatever makes sense on that hunt. A small 380 with spare magazine (BB hardcast/Federal HST), mosquito net, 1-2 packs of Skratch chews, tape measure, small role of electrical tape, Petzl Bindi, etc all can be found in the other pouch at various times. Whatever makes the most sense for any given hunt.

Do most people use a hip pouch on their packs hip belt? Do you find it helpful vs pants pockets?
I do. I find the hip pouch on my pack useful because I can reach certain things (gps, cellphone, bullets, wind detector, headlamp, etc) without stopping to take off my backpack.

I don’t keep my hunting accessories in my pants pockets because it makes climbing/ high steps up hills/ cliffs difficult. (Just my preference. )

I carry one. Half the time I think to myself there's no way I could do without it and the other half the time I'm thinking it's a worthless waste of space.

1 on each side, super handy in my opinion. I keep a Rangefinder in one and usually a can of chew and other miscellaneous stuff in the other haha. I also have a nalgene pouch on mine

I sweat bad so I don’t like anything in my pants pocket. My phone was in pants pocket and I sweat so bad it through an error and wouldn’t let me charge due to “moisture in charge port”

Left hip belt pouch has a small stop the bleed kit. Right hip belt pouch is misc, what ever I may need or want to stash there at the time.

I don’t on any of mine. I like to keep my belt clean and unobstructed. I know I’m in the extreme minority but I either have most of those things in the lid or if I’m using it in day mode I have a stash pocket for stuff like this in my pack. I use an ammo holder on my gun stock and the rest just always seems to get in my way more often than not.

I bought one of the following and find it very useful.

Carry a water bottle on my right then my carbs in a pouch on the left. Gimmie bears, that Aussie licorice or sour patch kids. Basically just a carb pouch
